Social Media Advertising Costs in Egypt 2026 — What You Should Really Budget

"How much should I spend on ads?" is probably the question we get asked more than any other. And the honest answer — the one most agencies avoid giving — is: it depends on what you sell, who you sell it to, and how competitive your market is. But "it depends" doesn't help you plan a budget, so let's put some real numbers on the table.
This is what we're seeing across the campaigns we run for clients in Egypt in 2026, from small local shops to national brands.
The Short Answer: Where Budgets Usually Land
For a small business testing the waters, meaningful results on Facebook and Instagram usually start around 5,000 to 15,000 EGP per month in ad spend. Below that, the algorithm barely has enough data to learn who your customers are, and you end up judging a channel that never got a fair chance.
Growing brands that want consistent leads or sales typically operate between 20,000 and 80,000 EGP per month. And established brands running always-on campaigns across several platforms go well beyond that — into six and seven figures monthly.
None of these numbers include production. A campaign is the ad budget plus the content that goes into it, and skipping the second part is the most common way we see money wasted.
What Actually Drives the Cost of Your Ads
Ad platforms don't charge a fixed price. You're bidding in an auction against everyone else who wants to reach the same people. That means your real cost depends on a few things you control and a few you don't.
Your industry matters a lot. Real estate and medical services in Egypt are brutally competitive, so the cost per lead is much higher than, say, a local restaurant promoting a new branch. Seasonality matters too — everything gets more expensive in Ramadan and around big shopping moments like Black Friday, because everyone is fighting for the same eyes.
The thing you control most is your creative. A strong video or a scroll-stopping visual can cut your cost per result to a fraction of what a lazy ad pays, because the platforms reward content people actually engage with. We've seen the same product, same audience, same budget produce three times the results just by changing the creative.
Where Most Businesses Waste Their Money
After auditing dozens of ad accounts, the same mistakes come up again and again.
Boosting posts instead of building proper campaigns is the biggest one. The boost button is designed to be easy, not effective. Proper campaigns with clear objectives, structured audiences and conversion tracking consistently outperform boosted posts.
Second: no tracking. If you can't measure what a lead or a sale costs you, you can't know if the campaign is working. Setting up the pixel and conversion events properly is boring work, and it's also the difference between marketing and gambling.
Third: giving up too early. The first two weeks of any campaign are a learning phase. Killing ads after three days because "they're not working" resets that learning and burns the budget you already spent.
TikTok, Snapchat and the Rest
Facebook and Instagram still take the biggest share of ad budgets in Egypt, but TikTok has become impossible to ignore — especially for products aimed at anyone under 35. Its ad costs are still generally lower than Meta's for reach, though converting that attention into sales takes creative made specifically for the platform. Recycled Instagram ads rarely perform there.
Snapchat remains strong with younger audiences in Egypt and the Gulf, and Google Ads is a different animal entirely — it captures people already searching for what you sell, which usually makes it worth a slice of any serious budget.
So What Should You Do?
Start with one goal, one or two platforms, and a budget you can sustain for at least three months. Invest properly in creative — it's the highest-leverage money in the whole plan. Track everything from day one. And judge the results by cost per lead or cost per sale, not by likes.
If you'd rather have someone who does this every day handle it, that's literally what we do.
